UsedWigs Radio 100: Team Todd

pod100--01-440

This is officially UsedWigs Radio Show #100 and officially our last show (tidal wave of tears). It was a super fun ride, thank you all for having us.

I want to thank everyone who participated, helped out and attended this Team Todd event. It was a really wonderful night, one that Todd would have loved.

Big hugs to the performers: Russ Starke, Heather Hall, Kimberly Hall, Dave Hill, Chip Chantry, Nikki WalterBrian Seymour, Rich Kaufmann, Scott Michael Shrake, Anna Goldfarb, Jon Solomon, Kevin Ginsberg, Brad Sukala, Lisa Starke and Bevan McShea for bringing all the laughs, stories and tunes. The tiny flabby muscles in my stomach are still hurting from laughing.

And big high-fives to Kell Andrews, Heather Andrews, Thomas Jadico Jr, C.j. Stahl, Brian Jacobs, Eric Smith, Colin Helb, Dan Eastman, Adam Picarelli, Kerri Foxhill, Geekadelphia and Cutesy but not Cutesy for the support. And big sweaty hugs to everyone else who was there and made it super fun. It meant a lot to Russ and Heather and me to have you all there!

Alright, enough yapping, here’s the audio, videos coming soon!

We lost our brother Todd Marrone, the heart and soul of UsedWigs Radio, and huge part of our lives. We love Todd and his family more than we can express and we want to celebrate his life, his art and his spirit of sharing. So please mark your calendars and join us on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at the beloved home of UsedWigs Radio, L’etage in Philly.

The show will feature lots of our super talented friends. Dave Hill and Chip Chantry will bring the laughs; Anna Goldfarb,  ShrakeNikki Walter and Kevin Ginsberg will tell some tales; Brian Seymour will play some of Todd’s favorite songs; and  Bevan McShea will perform and create live art in honor of his pal Todd. This will also be a benefit (donation at the door) and we hope to have some lovely pieces of art donated by friends of Todd and our show for a small silent auction.

Join Us at L’etage On April 17th with Special Guests Rachel Bensen and Bevan McShea!

You ready to rock? Not a lot of rockin’, just a bit. (It’s a weeknight for goodness sake!) Still, you deserve an early night out with comedy and music and crepes and sexy furniture. Join us this Tuesday at a Special Earlier Time: 7:00pm. (There’s a children’s puppet show at 9:00pm, we need time to clean up after our confetti canon.)

We’re very excited to have these fine folks join us!

Rachel performs wherever people will let her near a microphone – most recently, that’s included Philly Improv Theater, Tabu, World Cafe Live, and Helium Comedy Club. She tweets irreverently and irregularly at @rachelbensen.

The Phoenix Veil is the acoustic project of Bevan McShea, an artist, musician, and poet from Philadelphia. Bevan has collaborated musically on many projects spanning many styles and genres, the most notable being the hip hop and spoken word personae Lightborn. Join Us December 20th for The UsedWigs Holiday Show with Anna and Molly!

Our UsedWigs Holiday Shows are always super fun! We’ll have gifts, awesome guests and lots of (snow)ball busting! Plus, you can eat holiday crepes filled with roasted chestnuts or snow or tinsel or any other fillings you want, we don’t judge you on what you eat at our shows. Unless it’s reindeer, that is awful and you should feel really ashamed for even asking the waiter about it. Anyway, get over your shame and come to this show or we’ll send Jack Frost (pictured above) to come nip at your nose. (He has hidden tiger teeth!) I mentioned guests, and boy oh boy, we are super pumped to have two lovely ladies join us to spread some holiday cheer!

Anna Goldfarb is a Philadelphia-based author, humorist, and screenwriter. She loves short guys. Like, she really loves them. It’s kinda weird. She writes about bonerkillers on Shmitten Kitten and you can follow her on Twitter at @ShmittenKitten.
Molly Davis is a very funny and popular Twitter personality and more importantly she hates her upstairs neighbor and hummus. Don’t bring either to the show! Check in with Molly on Twitter at @Molly_Kats

Come to Our “Fromage at L’etage” with Madame Fromage and Nikki Walter!

Thanks to everyone who filled out comment cards after our past few shows. We really appreciate the feedback and we were not surprised at the top two suggestions. Number one was, as expected, “Please shut up!” and the number two most popular recommendation was, “Feed us delicious free cheese and have someone teach us about it while that vivacious Nikki Walter makes fun of you!”

Done and done and done! Join us this Tuesday at the mighty L’etage as we welcome Madame Fromage!

If you knock on her door, you will find a fridge full of whiffy morsels, from Ardrahan to Winnimere, and piles of cheese books on her coffee table. Madame Fromage loves the beauty of cheese, especially stinkers. She thinks they are as lovely as cherry blossoms, just in a different way. On weekends, she invites friends over for port and Stichelton, and sometimes things get rowdy.
